Welcome to Kaia Birth
Preparing for birth can feel exciting, overwhelming and full of questions. At Kaia Birth, we're here to help you feel informed, supported and genuinely prepared, with modern, evidence-based birth education.
Through hands-on learning and real-life scenarios, our classes are relaxed, engaging and genuinely enjoyable, creating space to ask questions, share experiences and even have a few laughs along the way. You'll leave feeling more confident, connected and ready for birth and early parenthood.
More than just a birth class, Kaia is about connection. It's a chance to slow down, prepare together and build confidence alongside other parents navigating the same season of life.
The heart behind Kaia
Hi, I'm Sheraden, a Registered Nurse, doula and mum of three. Passionate about helping women and their families feel informed, supported and confident throughout pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
Throughout my career, I've seen just how many parents enter birth feeling overwhelmed, anxious and unsure of their options- often carrying more fear than confidence.
I created Kaia because I wanted to offer the kind of birth education I believe every parent deserves: honest, balanced and grounded in both evidence and real-life experience.
But beyond education, I wanted to create something more- a space that honours the journey into motherhood and parenthood, and the power of feeling supported by others walking a similar path.
At Kaia Birth, birth education isn't just about information. It's about connection, community and shared experience. It's about creating space for real conversations, plenty of laughs, meaningful support and the confidence to ask every question—so you leave feeling genuinely prepared for birth and the transition into parenthood.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: when you feel informed, supported and connected, you can approach birth and parenthood with greater calm, confidence and trust in yourself.

Kaia Birth classes are designed for first-time parents, experienced parents wanting a refresher, IVF families and couples wanting supportive, modern pregnancy education.
Whether you’re planning an unmedicated birth, epidural, induction or caesarean, our classes help you understand your options and feel more confident navigating birth.
Kaia Birth supports you from pregnancy through to postpartum and beyond.
-
Kaia Birth is not your average hospital birth class.
Our workshops are hands-on, realistic and non-biased. We teach ALL birth — not just the “ideal” version. You’ll learn comfort measures, breathing techniques, labour positions, partner support, induction education, caesarean birth, newborn care and postpartum preparation.
We also include:
Hands-on workshop activities
Real birth videos from Kaia families
Practical partner education
Printed take-home resources
Ongoing support beyond the class
Our goal is simple: help you feel educated, empowered and prepared for birth and early parenting.
-
We generally recommend attending a Kaia Birth class between 28–36 weeks pregnant, giving you time to feel prepared, practise the techniques taught in class and approach birth feeling calm, informed and confident.
That said — education at any point in pregnancy is better than no education at all. Whether you’re 20 weeks, 38 weeks or even booking in for an induction next week, there is always value in understanding your options, your body and your birth.
One of the biggest differences with Kaia Birth is that our support doesn’t stop when class finishes. If circumstances change after your class — whether that’s an induction, caesarean booking, breech baby, reduced movements or simply feeling overwhelmed — you can always reach out to us for guidance, reassurance and support.
Because at Kaia Birth, we’re not just here for the class. We’re here for you.
-
We recommend booking your class between 10 and 20 weeks of pregnancy, as workshops often fill up in advance. The best time to attend is between 28 and 36 weeks, so everything is fresh as you prepare for birth. If you're later in your pregnancy, get in touch—we'll always do our best to fit you in.
-
Kaia Birth offers both group workshops and personalised 1:1 online birth education sessions. Join us in person at Warners Bay, Newcastle, Long Jetty in the Central Coast and Vineyard in the Hawkesbury, or attend online via Zoom from anywhere in Australia. Wherever you choose to learn, you'll receive practical, evidence-based education in a warm and supportive environment.
What our classes cover
No gatekeeping here. Explore the exact outline of every module covered inside the Kaia Birth Program below.
All mamas also receive a premium printed workbook to follow along throughout class and take home afterwards. Everything taught throughout the modules is included inside your booklet — making it easy to revisit the information, refresh your knowledge and continue preparing for birth at home.
Kaia Birth attendees also receive access to our downloadable Essentials of Breastfeeding course, recorded by Kaia Birth founder Sheraden alongside Midwife + IBCLC Claudia from Love Mama Lactation.
